Coming into Your Own

“The day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” ~Anais Nin

It is easy to remain stuck in old ways—they are comfortable and feel safe. However, you are meant to blossom and are free to change the trajectory of your life anytime you so choose.

As an author, you own your story. You get to decide what stays in or out. You may feel comfort and security in holding back some facts or events. However, it might serve you better to get uncomfortable and experience insecurity. Write about that thing that subject or event that helped shape who you are or those core values of yours that make you want to do something different, something more exciting, something more aligned with your spirit.

Of course vulnerability is not fun; however, you never know how writing about your most difficult time or unwavering truths may affect and resonate with your readers. Coming into your own is about being self-authoring and unapologetically you—the you that you are becoming, who you are meant to be, who you are on the deepest levels. Take that fantastic journey within yourself and embark upon an archeological dig within your soul. Figure out what and who you want and are meant to be, and ensure that every move you make and every thought you have lead you to becoming that person.
